Barbara A. (Giongetti) Lombari, 73, of East Hartford, loving wife for over 52 years of Dominick Lombari, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, to join her beloved son and parents, while surrounded by her caring family at her home.

Born in Providence, R.I., on Dec. 29, 1940, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Teresa (Rago) Giongetti, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 50 years. A devout Catholic, Barbara was a long-time, faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. She enjoyed making and painting ceramics and loved all animals. She was also a loyal fan of the UConn Women's basketball team. Most of all, Barbara was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking for her family and friends.
Besides her beloved husband, Dominick, Barbara is survived by two daughters, Teresa Marie Lombari of East Hartford, Cynthia Ann Perrone and her husband, John, of Marlborough; a son, Vince P. Lombari of East Hartford; a daughter-in-law, Anna M. (DiPersio) Lombari of Oxford; six adored grandchildren who were the light of her life, Deanna Scolsky, Joey Scolsky, Anthony Lombari Jr., Gabriela Lombari, Gino Perrone, and Maya Perrone. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Lucille Baldini of Johnston, R.I.; a nephew, Richard Reo of Johnston, R.I.; a niece, Tina Vittorioso and her husband, Mark, of Johnston, R.I.; two aunts, Jean Fino of Cranston, R.I., and Angie Iozzi of Providence, R.I.; a cousin, Robert Iozzi, of Johnston, R.I.; and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 10:15 a.m. from the D'esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday, Feb. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 36 Cambridge Drive, East Hartford, CT 06118.
