Nancy Ellen (Dailey) Fitzpatrick

The Guest Book is expired.

Nancy Ellen (Dailey) Fitzpatrick, 76, of Ellington, beloved wife of the late Michael John Fitzpatrick, died on Feb. 25, 2014.

Born in Rockville, on April 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (Costello) Dailey. Nancy considered her family, her home, and her numerous projects her greatest achievements. She treasured her husband and daughter, Amy, and was ever present for her family and friends. Nancy took great pride in her 56-year marriage - a perfect balance: she, beautiful, vivacious, and mischievous, and he, sensible, calm, and fiercely loyal. Nancy was known for her creativity and ingenuity. Her many pursuits included painting, sewing, cooking, cake decorating, and most significantly, doll making, and collecting. She was a clever and imaginative problem solver, and nothing was too big a challenge. Her strength and tenacity served her well and helped her endure her many hospitalizations with grace and dignity. Nancy was challenging, fun loving, and had a zest for life. She will be remembered for her spirited personality. She was always dressed to the nines, and wouldn't dream of going out without her lipstick on. Her smooth, flawless complexion was held in awe and was the envy of many. Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful things, and transformed the mundane into lavender and lace wrapped in soft pastel warmth. She was a beautiful force of nature.

Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Fitzpatrick; her sister-in-law, Sister Lucille Fitzpatrick; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine McCarthy, and her husband, William.

Amy would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Woodlake at Tolland for their excellent care, kindness, flexibility, and good humor.
