Gordon Jerome Beeler, 82, of Enfield, loving husband of Cecile I. (Dion) Beeler, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven.

Gordon was born Oct. 21, 1931, the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Armstrong) Beeler. Gordon grew up in De Valls Bluff, Ark., and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pratt & Whitney after 43 years as a jet engine test operator. Gordon enjoyed everything to do with aircraft, tinkering around the garage, working out in the yard, but his favorite past time was being with his family.

In addition to his wife, Cecile of 60 years, he is also survived by three children, Daniel Beeler of Hartford, Linda Beeler Doyon, and her husband, John, of Enfield, and Cynthia Beeler, and her husband, Morgan Stair, of Westford, Mass.; four grandchildren, Brittany Doyon and her significant other, Jose Castro, Joseph Doyon, and Emerson and Graham Stair; three siblings, Theodore Beeler, and his wife, Louise, Faye Rogers, and Virginia, all of Arkansas; and his lifelong friend, Charles "Wayne" Hilsdon, and his wife, Wilma, of Arkansas.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family Friday, March 7, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

A funeral service for Gordon will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Enfield Congregational Church, 1295 Enfield, St., Enfield. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial contributions in memory of Gordon may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
