Elizabeth R. "Ellie" Sloan, 21, of Coventry, beloved daughter of Ronald E. and Barbara (Pastula) Sloan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 5, 2014.

Ellie was born May 24, 1992, in Manchester, she was raised in Coventry, attending local schools and was a 2011 graduate of Coventry High School. She was currently attending Central Connecticut State University. Ellie volunteered with Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC) and Manchester Memorial Hospital. Ellie loved music, and played piano as a youth. She was also a competitive Irish step dancer, and played basketball, and along with her dad and sister, was part of the Willington Karate Club. Her real passion was serving the Lord by helping others. She attended the Greater Hartford, Church of Christ in New Britain.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Katherine M. "Katie" Sloan of Manchester; her maternal grandmother, Marie Pastula of South Windsor; her paternal grandfather, Robert F. Sloan Jr. of Manchester; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry. Burial will be in Coventry Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester.
