Florentyne "Flo" (Sienkiewicz) Anderson, 76, of Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at her home after battling a long illness.

She was born in New Britain on Dec. 31, 1937, the daughter of the late Albin and Eva (Radziewicz) Sienkiewicz. Florentyne was a graduate of New Britain High School and later from Hilliard College. Relocating to Enfield, she was a communicant of St. Bernard Church for 45 years and was employed at Aetna as an administrative assistant until the time of her retirement. Florentyne could often be found working in her flower garden, boating at her lake house, or traveling with her family. Her greatest joy was received from her time spent with her adoring grandchildren.

Florentyne is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Melvin Anderson of Enfield; her two sons, Gregory Anderson, and his wife, Karen, of East Longmeadow, and Daniel Anderson, and his wife, Lynn, of Enfield; her two daughters, Denise Jennings, and her husband, John, of Stafford, and Kathleen Kincman, and her husband, Martin, of Stafford; her six grandchildren, Michele and Nathan Anderson, Nicholas Jennings, Erica Anderson, Alyssa Kniep, and Anthony Kincman; her four step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Sean Davey, Ashley and Christine Kincman; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Davey and Raina Anderson; and many other family members and friends. Besides her parents, Florentyne was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Sienkiewicz; and her three sisters, Jeanne Ehinger, Lucy Cwirka, and Stephanie Sienkiewicz.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Riad, on Friday, March 28, at 9 a.m. for a procession to St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, for Florentyne's Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.

Florentyne's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 27, from 5 to 8 p.m.
