Stella L. Mangini, 94, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Hartford Hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1919, in Enfield, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Baradciej) Petraska. A lifelong resident of Enfield, she attended local schools, graduating from Enfield High School as the class secretary and author in 1937. Following graduation, Stella worked for the state for several years, and after her marriage to William N. Mangini in 1948 she went on to work as the secretary and treasurer of his printing business, Rainbow Inc. William preceded her in death in 1981 after 33 years of marriage. Stella was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church, and as an avid golfer she was a member of the Springfield Country Club as well as the Little Club Association in Florida. Stella was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting dinner parties for her family and friends. She loved to read and play cards, especially war with her adoring grandchildren.
Stella touched many lives throughout her years and she will be greatly missed by her son, Joel Mangini, and his wife, Cynthia, of Enfield; her grandchildren, Beverly Pajor, and her husband, Vincent, William Mangini, and Christopher Mangini, all of Enfield; her great-grandchildren, Vinny and Carrie Pajor; her brother, Andrew Petraska of Tennesee; her brother-in-law, John Mangini of Enfield; and many loving niece, nephews, and other family members. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Stanley, John and Raymond Petraska; and four sisters, Nellie Zaczynski, Mary Sylvester, and Bertha and Katherine Petraska.
A funeral service to celebrate Stella's life will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home at 10 a.m. to prepare for a procession for inurnment to follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
