Lena (Zelewitz) Cejkowski, 91, of Manchester, the wife of the late Edward H. Cejkowski, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

She was a born in Manchester, the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Botrak) Zelewitz. A lifelong resident of Manchester she designed and built the home she resided in. Lena loved life and was grateful for all she had and would go out of her way to help anyone. She loved gardening, cooking, traveling, and she always had a kind word for others. She was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance of America and a former member of St. Bridget's Rosary Society.
Lena is survived by her son, James Cejkowski; and her daughter, Carol-Ann Prince, both of Manchester. She was predeceased by her sister, Victoria; her stepsister, Stasia; and two stepbrothers, Anthony and Vincek.
Her family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital for the compassionate care given to their mother.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 10:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Bridget Church, Manchester. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m.
