Daniel James Post, of Enfield, husband of Kristen (Chadderton) Post, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 5, 2014.

Dan was born on Sept. 28, 1970, in Englewood, New Jersey, son of Edmund Post of Enfield and Beth (Houston) Dragon of Rochester, New York. He was a lifelong resident of Enfield and was a graduate of Enrico Fermi High School. He also attended Springfield Technical Community College, STCC. Dan was a contractor for over 20 years and was employed with Woodbury Supply Co. Inc. He was very involved with his community. As a father, he volunteered at the children's school, St. Bernard's in many roles, including bingos, dances, and school trips. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church. Dan never wanted to leave Enfield, choosing to remain with cherished friends in his community, where he devoted many hours to others. Dan served as a constable with the Town of Enfield. He was also a director on the Enfield Fourth of July Town Celebration Committee for over 18 years and co-chairman for two years. Dan's love was always family.

Along with his loving wife, Kristen, and his parents, Dan is survived by his beautiful children, Isabella, Lillian, Kamryn, and Madison; his brother, Mathew Post and wife, Elizabeth, of Enfield; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma (Dodd) Post; sister, Judith Post; and father-in-law, Robert Chadderton.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield.

Memorial donations in Dan's memory may be made to the Post Children Educational Fund, c/o Webster Bank, 50 Freshwater Blvd., Enfield, CT 06082.
