Wilma (Wilcox) Starratt, 81, of Vernon, wife of the late Robert "Bob" Starratt (2012), passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of the late William and Violet (Tracy) Wilcox, she grew up and lived in Caribou, Hartford, and Ellington before moving to Vernon ten years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1988, Wilma was employed by Kmart in Vernon for over ten years. She was previously employed by the former Royal and Underwood Typewriter Companies in Hartford for many years.
She is survived by her beloved children, Ronald "Butch" Cote and his wife, Marge, of Enfield, and Robert Ives of Vermont; two grandchildren, Joseph Cote and his wife, Becky, of East Windsor, and Tammy Wallace and her husband, Richard, of Florida; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, William Wilcox and his wife, Debbie, of Vernon, and Dick Wilcox and his wife, Sue, of Florida; a sister, Mary St. Jean and her husband, Roger, of East Hartford, and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
