Therese was born on Dec. 22, 1928, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Thomas and Rita (Landry) Gagnon. She was a parishioner of St. Martha Church, where she was the former coordinator for the CCD program and also at Sacred Heart Church in Suffield. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with family.

Along with her husband, Joseph, Therese is also survived by her children, Joseph E. McCuen III and wife, Nancy, of Enfield, Thomas J. McCuen and wife, Kristen, of Stafford Springs, and Louise M. Chase and husband, Kurt, of California; her cherished grandchildren, Crystal, Justin, and Zachary Chase, Joshua, Shane, and Ryan McCuen, and Joshua and Andrea Viens; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Elijah, Jessie, Ashley, Xavier, and Kadin. Therese also leaves behind a brother, Thomas Gagnon and wife, Gertrude, of Middletown, along with many nieces and nephews. Therese was predeceased by a son, Andrew B. McCuen in 1998; three brothers; and two sisters.

Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday, May 23, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, with the procession forming at 9 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Martha Church for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
