Irene S. (Strzempek) DiSciacca, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 92 on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014, in Enfield.
The Guest Book is expired.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. DiSciacca (1992) and daughter of the late Thomas and Aniela (Skok) Strzempek. She was born on March 5, 1922, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and had resided in Enfield for the past 63 years. Irene served her country honorably with the U.S. Army and was a very proud veteran of World War II. Prior to retiring in 1985, she was employed with Hamilton Standard for 28 years and worked at U.S. Envelope before that. Irene was a member of the Hamilton Retirees 25 Year Club, the AARP Chapter 3062, Enfield Senior Citizen Center, and was a longtime member of St. Patrick Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Irene is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, David P. and Pauline (Theroux) DiSciacca of Enfield; her cherished and beloved grandchildren, Melanie Packard and husband, Patrick, Michael DiSciacca, and Matthew DiSciacca, along with many nieces and nephews. Irene was also predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Walter Strzempek; and a sister, Emily McClure.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at Blair Manor for the kind and compassionate care given to Irene.
Irene's family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Friday, May 30, 2014, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by the funeral service with the Rev.
