Robert A. White Sr.

The Guest Book is expired.

Robert A. White Sr. "Bob," age 81, of Enfield, died peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, on April 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Carroll E. Sr. and Vivian (Ralph) White. On Sept. 12, 1959, at St. Paul Church, Kensington, he was united in marriage to his beloved bride, Roberta Sturtevant. After their marriage, they made Enfield their permanent home in 1968. Stationed in France, Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He went on to work as a warehouse worker and was employed by Popular Markets, Gear Bros., and later retired from Adams and Adams in 1995. He was a jack of all trades and following his retirement, Bob liked to stay busy by building and selling picnic tables, as well as collecting pull-tabs for the Shriners Club to raise money for the Children's Hospital.

Bob will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched, including his wife of 54 years, Roberta; his four children, Paul White of Enfield, Michael White Sr., and his wife, Judy, of Willington, Mary Gifford, and her husband, Jeff, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, and Robert White Jr. of Vernon; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Carroll "Sky" White Jr.; his three sisters, Katherine Faust, Mildred Dunn, and Lillian Winters; and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, beginning with a procession at 8:30 a.m. from Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, to Bob's graveside committal with military honors at Massachusetts State Veterans Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts, at 10 a.m. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
