Shirley I. Walters, 72, of West Suffield, beloved wife of Thomas S. Walters, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family Monday, July 7, 2014.

Born Sept. 28, 1941, in Springfield, daughter of the late Henry and Irene (LaFountain) DeGray, Shirley lived in Windsor Locks, West Suffield, and Palm Coast, Florida, and came back to West Suffield to be with her family. She will be greatly missed by her many friends from the U.S. Vets Motorcycle Club in Florida, who all referred to her as "Harley." She was an avid reader and had a great love for animals, especially butterflies.
Besides Thomas, her husband of 56 years, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Walters of West Suffield; a brother, Stephen Bieleski and his wife, Deborah, of Suffield; a granddaughter, Julie Blair and her partner, Phil Luis; a niece and nephew, Geoffrey and Samantha; a dear friend, Marge Lambert of Florida; and her dog, "Chloe."
Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. North, Suffield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 10, 2014, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, Suffield. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
