Lewis J. Myers, 88, of Broad Brook, beloved husband of the late Rose Mary (Albert) Myers, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Born in Old Town, Maine, on May 8, 1926, son of the late Percy and Anna (Therault) Myers, he had lived in Suffield for 36 years before moving to Broad Brook in 2007. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater, and received the Bronze Star for bravery. Before retiring in 1989 he was employed as an electrician by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, for 27 years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 52, serving as adjutant for Enfield and the state of Connecticut as a national service officer. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield and a member of Gensi-Viola Post 36, American Legion in Windsor Locks.

He leaves his devoted children, Carl Myers and his wife, Jan, of Union, Sandra Lee Roberts and her husband, Richard, of Wading River, New York, and Carlene Norris and her husband, John, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; a sister Kathleen Violette; eight grandchildren, Carl Jr., Steven, Linda, Kim, Lori, Timothy, Matthew, and Nicole; many nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, July 14, at 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, Suffield. Burial with military honors will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.
