Albert Braun, 79 of South Glastonbury passed away July 11, 2014, in Hartford Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in Hartford, son of the late Lorenzo and Lauretta (Gosselin) Braun, and lived in the area most of his life. Prior to his retirement, Al was a service manager for a heavy equipment company and served as union steward for the International Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed working in his garage on any kind of small engines, lawn mowers, and snow blowers and meeting every morning with his friends at Richards gas station in South Glastonbury.
Al is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Wells) Braun; two sons, Robert Braun and his wife, Krystina, of Reno, Nevada, Steven Braun and his wife, Christine, of South Windsor; a daughter, Victoria (Braun) Riley and her husband, Edward, of East Hartford; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heather, Ryan, Jessica, and Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Katrina, Stevie, and Madison. He also leaves a brother, Raymond Braun and his wife, Virginia, of Florida; a sister, Carole Micoletti and her husband, Raymond, of East Hartford; and a brother-in-law, William Bailey of Glastonbury; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by two sisters, Janet Coffin and Barbara Bailey. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Maggie.
