Joan M. (McCann) Caouette, 73, of Chaplin, formerly of Tolland, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Hartford Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Manchester, Aug. 1, 1940, to the late Henry and Grace (Marlowe) McCann. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Matthew Church in Tolland. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, rooted for the UConn Women's and Men's Basketball Teams, loved her puzzles, both jigsaw and crossword, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughters, Leigh Ann Baio of Middletown; Denise Abrams and her husband, David, of Apalachin, New York; Sheri Wilson and her husband, Don, of Chaplin; Beverly Wilson and her husband, Colin, of Marlborough; and Ann Marie Raymond and her husband, Wade, of Windsor; her sisters, Patricia Hill and her husband, Louis, of Johnstown, New York, and Kathy Graham and her husband, Jack, of Falmouth, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Roger Joseph Saldi, Kailee Wilson, Alyssa Abrams, Alaina Baio, Christopher Caouette, Cassandra Joan Abrams, Grace Wilson, Emma Wilson, Skyler Raymond, and Tate Wilson; a very special friend, Jennifer, who was much like a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Roger, in 1997; and her grandson, Dillon Wilson, in 2008.
Relatives and friends may join the family, Monday, July 21, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CT 06084.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, Tolland. Please meet at church. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.
