Janet (Eaton) Peck, 88, devoted wife to Leon H. Peck, passed away unexpectedly July 29, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born July 30, 1926, in Hartford, she was a daughter to the late Francis F. and Florence B. (Bartlett) Eaton. She was a resident of Ellington for 63 years, and was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church, where she was church secretary for many years. She was a member of the Ellington Fife & Drum Corp. and also served with the U.S.O.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by three sons, Gary Peck of Vernon, Randall Peck, and his wife, Shelly, of Manchester, and Keith Peck, and his wife, Kelley, of Columbia. She also leaves her three grandchildren, Jessica, Ian, and Brianna; and two great-grandchildren, Sasha and Sierra. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Eaton.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon.

A funeral service for Janet will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main St., Ellington, with interment following in Ellington Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to the Ellington Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 72 Main St., Ellington, CT 06029.
