Henry F. Sullivan Jr., 67, loving husband to Lorraine Dube-Sullivan, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the VA Hospital, West Haven.

Born March 18, 1947, in Hartford, he was a son to the late Henry F. Sullivan Sr. and Irene (Lawrence) Sullivan. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country proudly with the U.S. Army. Henry was employed with Cigna as a contract negotiator until his retirement, and was a member of St. Bernard's Church, Vernon.

He was an avid golfer, and was a member of both the Goodwin Park and Cedar Knob Golf Courses. Over the years he had the privilege to play golf with Davis Love, Billy Ray Brown, Blaine McAllister, and J.C. Snead. He enjoyed his winters in Florida, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Henry was a very caring and loving individual to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Lorraine, he is survived by his son, Shaun Sullivan, and his wife, Helen, of Cromwell; daughter Kerri Padegenis and her husband, Paul, of Florida; grandchildren Haley Fauteux, Shaun Sullivan Jr., and Connor Sullivan; and brother Thomas Sullivan of Newington.

Henry's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the West Haven VA, especially those on G4 East, ICU East, and T 3 W for their care and compassionate help during the short duration of his illness.

A memorial service for Henry will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at St. Bernard's Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Henry's name to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 310909, 555 Willard Ave., Newington, CT 06111; or Cornerstone Foundation, PO Box 2036, Rockville, CT 06066.
