Margaret "Peggy" (Bruton) Lemek, 83, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and formerly of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs. She was the beloved wife of 39 years to the late Chester Lemek.

Margaret was born on March 25, 1931, in Dublin, Ireland, to the late William and Mary (Murphy) Bruton. She had resided in East Longmeadow for the past year and in Enfield for 52 years. Prior to retiring in 1998 she was employed with the Town of Enfield school system for 30 years. Peggy was a member of Holy Family Church since its inception in 1965. She was an avid UConn Huskies basketball fan.
Margaret is survived by her loving children, Muriel Bruton and husband, David, of Enfield, Garrett Lemek and wife, Robin, of Stafford Springs, and Paula Chapman and husband, Roger, of Montgomery, Massachusetts; her four cherished grandchildren, Matthew Bruton, Neil Bruton, Jacob Chapman, and Alex Chapman. She is also survived by her three sisters, Elizabeth Anderson of Australia, Muriel Bruton, and Maura Boyd both of Ireland; and a brother, Noel Bruton of Ireland; along with many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Helen Lemek of Ludlow, Massachusetts, and Rose Baresia of Vernon; and a lifelong friend, Elizabeth Lathrop. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Patrick, James, Anthony, John, and Nancy.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, with the funeral procession forming at the funeral home at 9 a.m. to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield, for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
