Josephine M. D'Antonio, 93, was born Maria Josepha Siraco in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and raised in Springfield by her parents Michael Siraco and Maria (DiBenedetta) Siraco.

The youngest of three siblings, Josephine was predeceased by her brothers Angelo and John Siraco; and a sister Clementina Siraco, all of Springfield.

Josephine attended Commerce High School in Springfield, and in 1947 married her lifelong love, David Mario D'Antonio. Residing in their laughing and loving home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, for all 54 years of their marriage, they raised a daughter and a son. A devout catholic, Josephine was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Longmeadow, and a past member of the St. Mary Guild.

The Lord peacefully granted Josephine eternal rest, with family members at her side, on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.

She leaves behind a daughter, Paula D'Antonio of Mililani, Hawaii; a son David D'Antonio and his wife, Violet, of Enfield; her nephew, John Siraco of Springfield; many loving caregivers, close friends, and likely her favorite companion, JJ, the family cat. Josephine's love, gentle heart, good nature, and ever-present sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may gather with her family Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, during calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.
