Lillian M. (Carroll) Hattin, 95, of Manchester, and formerly of Glastonbury and Tolland, loving wife of the late James "Jim" Hattin, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2014.

She was born May 29, 1919, to Edward and Emma (Johnson) Carroll. She was a graduate of Manchester High School, and in later years attended Manchester Community College. Lillian loved to sing, and was a member of the Manchester Chaminade group as well as the Tolland Senior Center singers. She volunteered working with children for years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She married the love of her life, James Hattin in 1939.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Lillian Emerson and her husband, Paul; two granddaughters, Linda Dooley and her husband, George, and Kristin Reichman and the late Jeremy Reichman; she is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Allison, and Connor Dooley, and Elizabeth, Kathryn, and Nicholas Reichman; her sister, Emma Swetzes; as well as three nephews, Michael and Bruce Swetzes, and Brian Smith and their families. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Lillian was predeceased by her daughter, Judy Hattin; and her sister, Grace Smith.
Family and friends may call Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m.
