Robert J. "Bob" Krawski, 68, of Tolland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.

Bob was the fifth of six children born to the late Helen (Zagorski) and Joseph Krawski. In his early years, he spent much of his time working on the Krawski Farm, before earning his degree in engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology and serving in the National Guard. He worked at Fenn Manufacturing for many years, prior to fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning his own business, Diamond K Industries, which specialized in metal formation and swaging. He was a history aficionado who enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens and vacationing on Lake Winnipesaukee. He spent most of his life in South Windsor, but also lived in Farmington and Tolland. While a resident of Farmington he was an active member of the Farmington Exchange club, where he served as secretary for many years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters and their husbands, Kimberly and Greg Jewell of West Hartford, Jodie and Brendan Moran of Burlington, and Jill and James Carmichael of New York, New York; as well as his five brothers and sisters and their spouses, Joseph Krawski Jr., Bill Krawski Sr., both of South Windsor, Helen Gallivan and her husband, Dr. Gregory Gallivan, of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Patricia Peach and her husband, Dr. David Peach, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Janet Martocchio and her husband, Jim, of Simsbury. Bob also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren, Liam Jewell, Lyla Jewell, and Molly Moran; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor, with interment following in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor.
