Joyce Glidden Obituary

Joyce Glidden, 80, passed away Jan. 11, 2010.

She was born in Monticello, Maine, and graduated from Ricker High School. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Helen Folsom.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Glidden, and daughter, Diane Glidden. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Glidden of Enfield; her daughter, Carol Prior, and her husband, Keith, of Enfield; her granddaughter, Jennifer Scalise, and her husband, Michael, of Ellington; her grandson, Jeffrey Prior, and his special friend, Alana Cosgrove; and her two great-grandsons, Nathan and Jacob Scalise.

Since retirement from the Kaman Corp., Joyce enjoyed traveling, gambling at the casinos, and spending time at the Enfield Senior Center with her friends. She also enjoyed the neighborhood chats over coffee while debating politics and how to save the world. Joyce was an avid Red Sox fan and loved watching UConn girl's basketball games.

Relatives and friends may gather for a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Enfield Street Cemetery, Route 5, Enfield.

Donations in Joyce's memory may be made to the Enfield Community Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 1249, Enfield, CT 06083-1249.
