Thomas Arrowsmith, 67, a lifelong resident of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.

Born on Oct. 30, 1942, in Enfield, Tom was the son of the late John and Mildred (Thresher) Arrowsmith. Prior to his retirement, Tom worked for Hamilton Standard, Kaman Aerospace, and Western New England College. Tom was an avid New York Yankees fan. A racing enthusiast, he followed NASCAR and was once a part owner of a stock car at Riverside. He enjoyed woodworking and was a huge Elvis fan. Tom could often be found having coffee at "Don's Speedy ARCO."
A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Tom is survived by his children, Sally Arrowsmith LaRusso, and her husband, Chris, of Cheshire, Adam Arrowsmith of Enfield; his two brothers, Irving and Alvin Arrowsmith, both of Enfield; his sister, Edna Prickett of Enfield; and his beloved grandchildren, Patricia Jeanine LaRusso, Troy Arrowsmith LaRusso, and Derek Thomas LaRusso. He was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Edward Arrowsmith.
Funeral services for Tom will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
Relatives and friends may call on Tom's family prior to the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Ties are not required because according to Tom, "Ties are the most useless thing ever invented!"
