Bryan D. Perry, 65, of Vernon, beloved husband of 40 years to Georgia (Flavell) Perry, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Hartford Hospital, after an extended illness.

Bryan was born on Dec. 30, 1946, in Manhattan, N.Y., son of the late Robert H. and Theresa "Terry" (Lavelle) Perry, and had resided in Vernon for the past 35 years. Upon graduating from Manchester High School Class of 1964, Bryan proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a professional air traffic controller for UTC at Rentschler Field, East Hartford, for 26 years, having never missed a day of work. Following the closing of Rentschler Field, Bryan freelanced for various large corporations. Bryan and his wife enjoyed their vacation homes in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Denmark, Maine, along with "The Boys," Forrest and Ranger, their Labrador retrievers. They also fished together as a husband and wife team in many bass tournaments throughout New England. He was a member of the American Legion Post 102, Manchester.

In addition to his wife, Bryan is survived by a brother-in-law, Paul Flavell of Pacific Grove, Calif.; and many wonderful cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert H. Perry.

Visiting hours will be Friday, Oct. 26, at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester, from 4 to 6 p.m., immediately followed with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Burial with military honors will be private in Lakeside Cemetery, Casco, Maine.
