William M. Adamy, 92, of Manchester, husband of the late Ruth (McAdam) Adamy, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1920 in Manchester, son of the late Michael and Katherine (Demko) Adamy. He attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. Bill was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Purple Heart recipient. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed as a mechanic with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 40 years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer.
Bill is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Martin Kristoff of Glastonbury and Priscilla and Doug Richmond of LaPlace, La.; his five grandchildren and their spouses, William and Pam Kristoff, Kimberly and David Rose, Brian and Ariella Giusani, Michael and Megan Giusani, and Ray Richmond; eight great-grandchildren; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian and Ralph Rinaldi of Prospect and Elaine and Joseph Kizis of South Windsor; his sister-in-law, Lois Popoff of Andover; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Gail Giusani, and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Kristoff.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
Calling hours will be on Monday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester.
