Edward L. Korpusinski Sr., 83, of the Somersville section of Somers, entered into eternal peace Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Evergreen Health Care in Stafford.

The son of the late Leon and Katherine (Haber) Korpusinski, Ed was born and raised in Suffield and had lived in the Somers community most of his life. A Korean War veteran, he served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4303 in Somersville earning his Third Degree, and was a member of Council 50 in Enfield and a past faithful navigator with the Rev. William Kilcoyne Assembly 4th Degree.
Ed is survived by his children, Lynn Davidson and her husband, James; Edward Korpusinski Jr. and his wife, Karen; Joanne Shimasaki and her husband, Erroll; Karen Ball and her husband, William; and Victoria Evans and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Melissa Leary and her husband, Glen; Joseph Davidson; Melanie Hicks; Amanda Dobey and her husband, Michael; Alec and Blake Korpusinski; Nicole Shimasaki; William Jr. and Jason Ball; Kimberly and Matthew Evans; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Wence of Suffield. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley; two sisters, Mary Paterwic and Helen Tenerowicz; and his former wife, Patricia (Ford) Korpusinski.
Visitation hours will be held Monday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. (Rt. 190) in Somers.
Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Somers Funeral Home for a procession to St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave., Enfield, for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow with military honors at St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
