Walter F. Grob, 83, of Enfield, went to reunite with his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn A. (Hayes) Grob, in the arms of our Lord on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1929, in Dobbs Ferry, Greenburgh, N.Y., a son of the late Frederick and Anna (Maurer) Grob. Walter served with the U.S. Army, and was employed for 25 years as a draftsman with Combustion Engineering, from which he retired in 1985. He lived most of his life in Enfield, and became an active member of Holy Family Parish.
Walter leaves seven loving children, Michael Grob, and his wife, Shirley, of Brooksville, Fla., Stephen Grob, and his wife, Debbie, of Suffield, Anita Reid, and her husband, Don, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Laura Boyer, and her husband, Steve, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Meg Winans, and her husband, Jim, of Enfield, Gloria Clymer, and her husband, David, of South Windsor, and David Grob of Enfield; 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, and Donald Reid, Michael and Daniel Grob, Virginia and Rebecca Winans, Rachel, Kendra, and Deidra Clymer, and Colton Grob; four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Nathan, and Olivia Grob, and Aidan Reid; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by a granddaughter, Julie Hayes Grob, and a brother, Armand Grob. Walter will be greatly missed and forever remembered as a loving man with a quick wit and good humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield. Burial and military honors will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
Walter's family will receive family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
