Joanne T. Roy-Christian, 78, of Vernon, formerly of East Hartford, passed away, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

She was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of the late Napoleon and Adrienne (Carle) Christian. She was a Connecticut district sales manager of the Casual Male, the owner of Joey's Menswear, Salem, Conn., and Dun and Bradstreet Receivable Management, East Hartford. She was also a published writer/ author.
She is survived by her children, David A. Roy, and his wife, Donna, of Vernon, Christopher P. Roy of West Hartford, Valerie J. Koschmieder, and her husband, Ernie, of Groton, and John S. Roy, and his wife, Alma, of Vernon; her sister, Carole J. Krueger, and her husband, Neil, of New Hampshire; and her grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, and Jennifer Koschmieder, Kimberly Roy, Brandon Roy, Tiffany Roy, and Justin Roy.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
