Columbine R. "Colli" (DiMella) Martin, 83, of East Windsor, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

Colli was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Antonio and Louise DiMella, and was a lifelong resident of East Windsor where she raised her family. She retired as a secretary from The Army National Guard at Camp Hartell in Windsor Locks. She was most recently employed by the Assessor's Office in East Windsor and had been the administrative foundation at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home in East Windsor. Colli was a vibrant person who had many interests beyond her devotion to her family. She was active in her church at St. Philip of East Windsor, she participated in many activities at both East Windsor and Enfield Senior Centers, and she spent many hours with a variety of her friends. Colli's creative and generous spirit was expressed through all of her relationships and interests.

Colli was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who offered endless love and caring to all her family members. Colli is predeceased by her daughter Valerie Joyce, and by her brother Anthony DiMella. She is survived by her daughters, Robin Martin and her wife, Eden Brenner, of Jamaica Plain, Mass., and Marlene Dumeer and her husband, Chuck, of Enfield; her sisters, Rita Cole of Orlando, Fla., Theresa Annello of Pawcatuck, Mimi Kraker and her husband, David, of Delray Beach, Fla., Louise DiMella-Nickless and her husband, Jeff, of Rawley, Mass.; by five grandchildren, John Joyce, Brett Joyce, Erica Dumeer, Alisha Dumeer, and Clara Martin-Brenner; and by many nieces and nephews. Colli was also a close personal friend of the Bassingers and the Dowds.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Church, 150 S. Main St. (Route 5), East Windsor. Everyone is asked to go directly to church. Interment in St Agnes Cemetery, Branford, will be at the convenience of the family.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor.
