Rose Sarra, 86, of South Windsor, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at home.

Born in New Britain on Sept. 14, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Guistina (Follachio) Sarra, she had lived in New Britain and East Hartford before moving to South Windsor 15 years ago. Before retiring she was an accountant aide for the Internal Revenue Service for 42 years. Rose was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor, and was a member of the Luna Club in Hartford. Rose was a devoted and beloved aunt to her nieces and grandnephews.
She leaves her sister, Concetta Clementino, and her husband, James; two nieces, Irene Clementino and Justine Jennings, and her husband, Arthur, all of South Windsor; and grandnephews, First Lt. Bryan Jennings, U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and Dylan Jennings of South Windsor.
Family and friends may gather Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
