Eleanore Anna Ratcliffe, 88, formerly of Enfield, widow of the late Robert J. Ratcliffe, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Bickford Health Care in Windsor Locks.

The daughter of the late John and Rose (Noack) Burns, Eleanore was born in Ellington and had lived in Agawam for over 40 years. She had lived in Auburndale, Fla., for five years before returning to New England in 2000. She had been employed at Bridgeport National Bindery in Agawam for 12 years and also worked for Associated Transport Credit Union for several years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and attended many reunions for the USS Iowa where he served, as well as Hawaii and England. She also enjoyed genealogy, and quilting.
Eleanore is survived by two daughters, Karen Ratcliffe of Enfield, and Gloria Bousquet of Pelham, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a cousin and good friend, Grace Scibek, and her husband, Stanley, of Maryland. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Mark Ratcliffe.
Her family wishes to thank her caregivers, Debra and Evelyn, from Companions and Homemakers, and also the staff at Bickford Health Care.
