Ruth Price (Cantor) of West Hartford, formerly of Yonkers, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2013, surrounded by her daughters, Suzanne Price, Priscilla Rosenberg, and son-in-law, Josef Rosenberg. She was the wife of the late Samuel Price.

Ruth retired following a long career with the New York City Public Library, where she served as a branch librarian in the Bronx. A dedicated member of Hadassah, she was cited in the Golden Book in Israel for her work in support of the organization's programs. A strong advocate for parental involvement in public schools, she was an active member of the PTA of her daughters' elementary school and was a talented writer and editor of their school's newspaper. Deeply committed to the support of organizations focused on health issues, she was an early, hard-working member of the March of Dimes campaign against polio, and later helped to raise substantial funds for Cancer Care.
In addition to her daughters and son-in-law, Ruth is survived by her granddaughter, Dana Silverman, and her husband, Gary; her grandson, Jonathan Rosenberg; and her great-granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Silverman.
Following a private service burial was at Sharon Gardens in Westchester County, N.Y.
