Carlton F. Howlett, 78, of Stafford Springs, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Stafford Springs, son of the late Lemuel and Evelyn (Ryder) Howlett. Carlton retired as a supervisor from Carris Reel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lorraine (French) Howlett; four children, Karen Bastille and her husband, Russell, Beth Galvin and her husband, Raymond, Clinton Howlett, and Gail Howlett-Brown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Howlett; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother Carlos, and brother Lemuel.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Staffordville Gospel Church, 375 East St., Staffordville. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs.
