Ronald David Molnar, 72, of Vernon, beloved husband of 50 years to Colette (Jouet) Molnar, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 17, 2013.

Born in Rankin, Pa., the son of the late Arthur and Marie (Bush) Molnar, he grew up in Duquesne, Pa., and lived in Orleans, France, and Virginia before moving to Vernon over 45 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 2000, Ronald was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 32 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing, softball, and bowling, and he coached youth baseball, football, and basketball in Vernon for several years. Ronald was an avid outdoorsman who liked to fish and hunt. He especially enjoyed going to his summer home in New Hampshire with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, David Molnar, and his wife, Barbara, of Glastonbury, Patrick Molnar, and his wife, Julie, of Coventry, and Maryse Tirroneau of France; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan, and Marina Molnar, and Gaetan and Aurelie Tirroneau; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Kattie Tirroneau; three sisters, Janice Shanley, and her husband, Tom, of Duquesne, Pa., Eileen Robertson, and her husband, Bill, of Augusta, Ga., and Linda Horvat of Cape May Court House, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Art Molnar; and a sister, Evelyn Booth.
His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home beginning at 7 p.m.
At his request, his ashes will be scattered in New Hampshire in a private ceremony at a later date.
