Gene Moshure Obituary

GENE A. MOSHURE, 72 MT. CARROLL - Gene A. Moshure, 72 yrs. old, of Mount Carroll, passed away in his home on Sunday, August 18, 2013. He was born in Chicago on November 10, 1940; the son of Richard and Ella (Hovorka) Moshure. Gene was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School. He married Judy McDearmon at Mt. Carroll in 1960. Gene was employed by the Illinois Department of Conservation until he retired in 1998. He was a former member of the Mt. Carroll Lions Club & Savanna Moose Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and all outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and working on his farm. Gene is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Bruce Rogers); son, John (Michelle); and two granddaughters, Chloe and Tori both of Mt. Carroll; one sister, Vivian Rycus of Portland, Oregon. He is preceded by his wife, Judy; both his parents; and two brothers, Ralph & Rayfield. Services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 24, at the First Baptist Church in Mount Carroll with the Rev. Floyd West officiating. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church. A memorial has been established in his memory.
