Dornink, Dorothy Ellen - Galva  
Dorothy Ellen Dornink 1922—2016 Dorothy Ellen (Angle) Dornink, 94, of Galva, died at 12:23 a.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg following a brief illness. She was born in Dakota, IL on April 2, 1922, the daughter of William "Ray" and Helen (Swanzey) Angle. Dorothy graduated from Dakota High School in 1939, and attended Northern Illinois Teachers College in DeKalb, IL from 1939-42, graduating with a degree in education. She taught school from 1942-45 around Dakota, IL. She married Sheldon Dornink on January 6, 1944. Dorothy and Sheldon had six children and lived in a variety of communities including, Dakota, Roseville, Ursa and Galva, IL. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Farm Bureau Extension and the Galva United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the UMW Circle. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her pansies and continued an appreciation of nature, learned from a childhood of growing up on a dairy farm. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years she traveled with her husband to Mexico, Jamaica, the Bahamas and Brazil. She and Sheldon were also longtime winter residents of N. Padre Island, TX. With her attention to detail, Dorothy kept a tidy home, often decorating with her favorite color blue. She was a lively conversationalist engaging in clever comments and humorous retorts and always enjoyed writing and receiving cards. Dorothy brought great joy to her family and friends through her kindness and ability to make others feel special. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Jean in 1963, and her husband, Sheldon in 2009. She is survived by three daughters, Colleen Faherty (Bob) of Avoca, WI, Melody Huette (Doug) of Tiffin, IA and Lynn Dornink (Carl Mittnight) of Reading, MA; two sons, Alan Dornink (Valerie Johansen) of Lebanon, TN and Robert Dornink (Denise) of Galesburg, IL; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 23, at the Galva First United Methodist Church. Pastor Russell Collister will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. An additional visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota, IL, followed by burial with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Dakota Cemetery. DeMar, Rose M. - Warren  
Rose M. DeMar 1928—2016 Rose M. DeMar, 87, of Warren passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born October 26, 1928, in Cuba City, WI to Frank and Theresa (Heitkamp) Salwolke. On June 16, 1951, Rose married Eric Sulgrave DeMar in Apple River, IL. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1997. Rose was a homemaker and was at her best when she was needed to give a helping hand or say a prayer for family members and friends. She was a member St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren and enjoyed crocheting, watching birds out her window and sports with her grandson and being with her family. Rose is survived by her children, Martha DeMar of Seattle, WA, Carolyn (Ronald) Petsche of Warren, IL , Robin Ortman of Warren, IL and Jayne (Tom) Seffrood of Gratiot, WI; twelve grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; one niece, Susan (Tom) Gebhart; and two nephews, Pat (Molly) Salwolke and Fred Salwolke. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Donald, Orrin "Buddy" and Harold. A private family service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple River, IL. Internment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Apple River. Dittmar, Ayden T. - Lena  
Ayden T. Dittmar 2016—2016 Ayden Timothy Dittmar, at the age of 8 weeks and 3 days, passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on July 16, 2016 at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. Ayden was born on May 25, 2016 with a rare genetic disorder that caused intractable seizures. He was the son of Jayson and Rachel (Lingbeck) Dittmar of Lena, IL. He touched the hearts and lives of many in the short time he was here. He is survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Evelyn & Jaylee; paternal grandparents, Tim Dittmar of Lena and Julie & Rich Davis of Warren, IL; maternal grandparents, Gary & Sue Lingbeck of Lena; great-grandparents, June & the late Dalvin Dittmar of Lena, Orv & Dannis Gates of Lena, LaVerle & the late Joan Lingbeck of Freeport, and Lila & the late Edward Parks of Freeport. A private service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton. Interment will take place at the Woodbine Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Memorials may be sent to 15052 W.
