Margaret Lott

MARGARET V. LOTT, 88 PEARL CITY - Margaret V. Lott, 88 yrs. old, of Pearl City, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Liberty Village in Freeport, after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born near Pearl City on December 5, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Julia (Peterson) Lott. She attended and graduated from Hershey rural school. At an early age she moved to Rockford and worked for 24 years at Davis Furniture until they closed. She then worked four years at Bostwicks Dept. store in Rockford. In 1972 she came back to this area and established Rite-Way Furniture and Appliance with her nephew, Stanley Lott, working until 1999 when her dementia forced her to retire. Margaret was a Gold Star member of the Pearl City American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Ebenezer-Salem UCC Church. In her spare time Margaret liked to fish and travel and enjoyed old time folk, western, Gospel, and Waltz music. Margaret is survived by a sister, Helen Lott of Freeport; sister-in-law, Marjorie Lott of Pearl City; nephew, Stanley Lott of Pearl City; and numerous other nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Ebenezer UCC Church, rural Pearl City with the Rev. Herb Reed Officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the Offenheiser-Schwarz Funeral Home in Pearl City.
