Marvin Koch

MARVIN D. KOCH, 79 LENA - Marvin D. Koch, 79, died Saturday June 15, 2013, at his home. He was born September 1, 1933 to Nellie and Lawrence Koch of Kent, who he survived. He is survived by his wife, the former Margery Wilkinson; two children, Laurie Geeseman and Ritchie (Jacquelyn) Koch. The grandchildren include Andrew (Lauren) Koch, Brian Koch and Leah Koch (special friend, Tyler York); others are David Geeseman and Katherine (fiancé, Adam Decker) Geeseman. There are four great grandchildren. Marvin graduated from Lena High School in 1951 and married later that year. He was a member of Stephenson County Farm Bureau, Illinois Pork Producers, Lena Lions Club, Stephenson County Zoning Board, Stephenson County Extension, Farm Business Farm Management, Kent Township Trustee, 4-H Leader, Lena State Bank Trustee, as well as a trustee of the Lena Fire Department and a farmer for many years. His interests were attending auctions and collecting antiques; he was also an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed being with his family members of all ages. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. A time of refreshments will follow the service. Memorial money will be donated to the ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Foundation from which his son-in-law, Ralph Geeseman died. Condolences may be sent to the family at leamonfh.com.
