GENELDA I. (NADIG) SPINOSO, 87 FREEPORT - Genelda I (Nadig) Spinoso, 87, of Freeport, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Manor Court in Freeport, surrounded by her family. Born October 22, 1925, in Scales Mound; she was the daughter of Temple and Elizabeth (Rowe) Redfearn. She married Charles Nadig May 12, 1946, in Schapville. He preceded her in death November 25, 1972. She married Anthony Spinoso July 25, 1981 in Savanna. Genelda taught in a one room school house in Schapville, was a Clerk of Selective Service during WWII, Assistant at the Nadig Funeral Home and the Nadig Law Jones Funeral Home, City Clerk of Hanover, and worked 10 years for her husband as a bookkeeper for N&S Plumbing & Heating in Savanna. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Freeport, past Deacon of Second Presbyterian Church, and a member of PEO Sisterhood in Savanna. Surviving is her husband, Anthony of Freeport; her daughter, Beth Ferris of Roscoe; 2 sons, Stanley (Donna) Nadig of Savanna and Carson (Donna) Nadig of Hanover; her brother, Vernon (Ruth) Redfearn of Scales Mound; 2 stepdaughters, Teri (Michael) Masterson of Palos Park and Nancy (David) Madden of Deforest, WI; 2 stepsons, James (Lucille) Spinoso of Huntsville, Alabama and Tom (Tori) Spinoso of Madison, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and first husband, Charles. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013, at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at United Presbyterian Church in Freeport, with Reverend Kathleen Luke officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Hanover.
