GLEN J. WEICHEL, 79 FREEPORT - Glen J. Weichel, 79, of Freeport, died Tuesday November 5, 2013 in his home. Glen was born on January 4, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Mamie (Fetschele) Weichel. Glen served for the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He worked at Kelly Springfield for 20 years retiring in 1995. Survivng are four sons, James (Danielle) Weichel of Paris, Tenn., Ronald Weichel of Freeport, David (Brianna) Weichel of Sycamore and Tim (Sarah) Weichel of Freeport; daughter, Debra Carl of Cuba City, Wis.; one brother, two sisters, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Glen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. The family would like to wish a sincere thank you to F.H.N. Hospice for the fine care they gave Glen. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory. Please sign the guestbook at www.burketubbs.com.
