JAMES P. MEYERS, 67 FREEPORT - James P. Meyers, 67, of Freeport died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in his home. Born on February 3, 1946, in Freeport, the son of Stephen and Marie (Hodapp) Meyers. James owned and operated Freeport Sheet Metal from 1983 to 2005. He married Mary Rohde in Freeport on July 2, 1966. James served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1969. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working around his house, traveling, riding his motorcycle and snowmobile. He loved his family and his dogs, Faithie and Freddie. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Heath (Regan) Meyers of Cherry Valley; one daughter, Heather Meyers Heidenreich of Freeport; four brothers, Richard Meyers, Dennis (Carol) Meyers, Steve (Diane) Meyers and Eugene Meyers; one sister, Suzanne (William) Gallagher; and three grandchildren, Cheyenne Heidenreich, Quintin Heidenreich and Beckham Meyers. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Ralph. Visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Burke-Tubbs. A memorial has been established in his memory.
