MARGARET J. BRINKMEIER, 96 MINNEAPOLIS - Margaret J. Brinkmeier, 96, native of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 27, 2013, in Minnesota, where she has resided for the past 50 years. Born July 23, 1917, in Freeport to Michael and Sarah O'Connell. Preceded in death by husband, Ward; siblings, Gerald, Clifford, Donald, Virginia and Helen. Survived by children, Dr. Mary Margaret (Garry) Hoden, Janet, Mark and Dan Brinkmeier; grandchildren, Derek (Colleen) Hoden, Deirdre Hoden (Tyler) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brendan and Nick Hoden, Sarah Grace Johnson; many nieces, nephews and a loving extended family. Longtime employee of JC Penney. In her retirement years, Margaret enjoyed numerous hobbies including quilting, needlework and service to her church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Alphonsus in Brooklyn Center, MN on Friday, August 30, 2013, at 7 p.m., with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
