MARY MCKIBBEN LOVE, 70 FREEPORT - Mary McKibben Love, 70 yrs. old, of Freeport passed away on Sat., July 13, 2013. She was born on May 24, 1943 in Rockford, the daughter of Earl R. and Mildred (Fisher) McKibben. She married Lloyd I. Love on May 23, 1959 in Monroe, WI. Her first job was as a carhop at The Hitching Post in Freeport. After she raised her family, she returned to work as a bartender at Marty's Tap in Freeport for twenty years. Mary was a singer with The Drifters, a Country Western group that played in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin Honky Tonks. She has four children, Pamela, Raymond, Dawn, and Timothy; her grandchildren, Johnny, Heather, Cheryl, Eric, Brandon, Colton, Autumn, Tiffany, and Travis; numerous great-grandchildren; three close friends, Mollie Albright, Edna Haas, and Louise Crase. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her son, and other family members. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wed., July 17, 2013 at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. with Pastor Gary Saxby officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the Schwarz Chapel. A memorial has been established in her memory.
