KATHERINE L. HARRISON, 92 STOCKTON - Katherine L. Harrison, 92, of Stockton, IL, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born May 29, 1921, in Cumro, NE; the daughter of the late John and Olga (Swenson) Popp. She attended Broken Bow High School in Broken Bow, NE. After graduating, she taught at a one room school house for two years. She then received her nursing degree at Denver General Hospital. Kay married Warren Harrison on August 17, 1947, in Lincoln, NE; he died May 17, 2002. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton. Her memberships also include the Stockton Women's Club, Northwest IL Hospice, and Eureka HCE. She loved helping people and volunteered at the Stockton nursing home and museum. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Kay is survived by three daughters, Leslie (Andy) Hawley of Stockton, Marcia (Hugh) Miles of Denver, CO, and Julie Harrison Reincke of Eaton Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Erin, Ben and Katie Reincke, Sarah, Michael and Maggie Miles, and Bob, Bridget and Steve Hawley; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, where a visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton at a later date.
