DOUGLAS P. DONAHUE, 57 ROCKFORD - Douglas P. Donahue, 57, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born on Oct. 22, 1956, in Freeport, to Paul and Nancy (Highbarger) Donahue. He married the love of his life, Teresa Vaccarello on September 17, 1977. He graduated from Freeport High School and worked as a machinist for many years. Doug loved reading, family game nights and watching all the beautiful wildlife in his backyard. Doug and Teresa enjoyed traveling to different beaches to enjoy the warmth of the sun. He was an avid sports fan but truly enjoyed his Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs and cheering on the local teams. One of his favorite memories was of watching a Cubs game from a rooftop. During his illness, he enjoyed his visits with his coworkers, special friends and family. His strong will and positive outlook was an inspiration to all. A special thanks for all the love and support to everyone through this difficult journey.
