MR. LEE EDWARD WARD, 59 CARROLLTON, Ga. - Mr. Lee Edward Ward, age 59, of Carrollton, GA passed away peacefully Friday, August 8, 2014 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mr. Ward was born in Freeport, IL on April 30, 1955 the son of Charlotte Heard Ward and the late Dr. C. George Ward. He moved to Carrollton in 1997 but was always proud of his Midwestern roots and had fond memories of his years living in Florida. A hard-working man, Mr. Ward spent the majority of his career working as a Construction Salesman, but also held positions in carpentry and as a steel worker throughout the years. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed gardening, wood-work, and any project that involved crafting something new. His family will forever cherish the many hand-made pieces he created. A true family man, Mr. Ward always enjoyed an afternoon by his pool with his wife and family. He also loved spending time with his 2 dogs, Lacy and Barbie. They will miss his love and companionship. Mr. Ward always thought of others first; providing encouragement, smiles, and compliments to everyone he met. He was an extraordinary man, who lived a life rich in adventure, happiness and love. Survivors include his wife, Mona Moiselle Ward; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Vann Elliott of Tumwater, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Erin Ward; daughter, Jennifer Ward; son, Jeremy Ward all of Carrollton, GA; mother, Charlotte Heard Ward of Stockton, IL; granddaughters, Aspen Karns and Sydney Elliott; grandson, Chase Ward; brothers and sister-in-law, Ken and Brenda Ward of Mt. Dora, FL; Craig (Amy Hinrichsen) Ward of Fennimore, WI; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Scott Weisinger of Ft. Madison, IA; Diane and Scott Finn of Stockton, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. C. George Ward and niece, Abby Ward. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott King and Mr. Duncan MacDonald officiating.
