James Borgmann Obituary

JAMES L. BORGMANN, 96 BRODHEAD, Wis. - James L. Borgmann, age 96, of Brodhead, formerly of Durand, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at his home. He was born on February 7, 1918 in German Valley, IL, the son of Herman and Clara (Westerman) Borgmann. He married Helen Grove on October 11, 1940 in Davenport, IA. She passed away on June 28, 2006. Jim had farmed in Durand, IL for 20 years. He was also an independent painter until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Davis Calvary Methodist Church. Jim is survived by his children, Gale (Cindy) Borgmann, Oshkosh, WI, Tim (Mona) Borgmann, New Glarus, WI, Jan (Etta Pruitt) Borgmann, New London, NC; former daughter-in-law, Sue Borgmann, Monroe, WI; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Garhart, Joe, John, Herman, Clarence and Elmer Borgmann; and sisters, Annetta Baal, Etta Donker and Jenny Klapp. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the D.L. Newcomer Funeral Home, Brodhead, Wis., with Pastor Jim Ketzel officiating. Burial will be in the Durand Cemetery, Durand, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.dlnewcomerfuneralhome.com.
