Donald Baker

RACINE - Donald Baker, 58, passed away in Cape Coral, FL on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Don was born in Racine on May 15, 1956 to Frank E. Baker and Joyce M. (née: Kelly) Baker. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Don retired from Johnson Wax after more than twenty years. Don loved anything music, playing both sax and drums. He spent his time going to auto races, playing golf with his friends and volunteering for the Special Olympics with his brother, Jim. Don was a dog fanatic and animal lover, especially his faithful companion, Rio. Most importantly, Don loved being with his family and playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Jenn (Chris) Cohen; grandchildren, Julian and Sadie; brothers, Jim (Terry) Baker, Tom Baker and Bill (Linda) Baker; aunts and uncle, Aileen Witt, and Char and Bob Rowland; nephew, Kiefer Witt; step-mother, Fran Baker; and former wife and friend, Shon Peterson. Don is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Frank J. Baker; and his uncle, Andy Witt. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family for a celebration of Don's life, at the funeral home on Thursday evening, May 22, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In keeping with Don's wishes, cremation will take place.
