Margaret Catherine Druse

Margaret C. Druse RACINE – Margaret Catherine Druse, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 14, 2013. Margaret was born in Racine on December 21, 1924 to the late Harry and Ella (nee: Moran) Druse. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School, Racine & Kenosha Rural Normal School, and Dominican College. Devoting her life to educating, Margaret served as a school teacher in the Kenosha Unified School District for nearly 42 years, retiring in January of 1987. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she was actively involved in the RCIA ministry program. She was also an advocate of the Racine Theater Guild. Survivors include her cousins, John Humphrey, Mrs. Frances Richter, Mrs. Helen Nietzel, and Mr. Frank Denton. Margaret is further survived by her loving friends and caregivers, Sandra & Eugene Lepisto and Betty Cleven and by her loyal feline companion, Mia. We are grateful to her friends, Peggy Taylor, Sylvia Zarate, and many neighbors who have helped her over the years. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Druse, in 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1 pm in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 12 noon-1 pm. In memory of Margaret, memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society has been suggested. We would like to extend a hearfelt “Thank You” to her caregivers at the Heart Failure Clinic, especially Julie, Valerie, Karen, and Dr. Short.
